The Journal

The Pastoral Counsellor is a peer-reviewed academic journal that advances research, theory and practice of pastoral care and counselling psychology. Essentially, it seeks to relate psychological science research with the work of ministry. It is a forum for the publication of original papers, irrespective of faith orientation. The thrust of this journal is the care for and interrogation of human beings as persons, in families, in small groups, and in community, with a view to help them make the most of their lives.

Clinical Psychology
Pastoral Care

Religious and spiritual leaders, chaplains, social workers, counsellors, clinical psychologists, and psychiatrists are encouraged to present their peculiar perspectives here. The journal expects contributors to examine and discuss pastoral care and counselling, pastoral theology, psychology of religion, and the multidimensional interface between psychology and spirituality. All theoretical perspectives are welcome from different of schools of thought, including, but not limited to, social psychology, pastoral psychology, humanistic psychology, transpersonal psychology, and cultural psychology. Insights from existential perspectives, gender studies, phenomenology, sociology, anthropology, and cultural studies are welcome.
